VALLE D’ITRIA

The tour starts with a walk in the characteristic old town, a World Heritage Site, composed entirely of trulli.
Departure for Locorotondo, covering almost 10 KMs of rural lanes. This town is one of the main tourist destinations of the Valle d’Itria, well known in the world for its panoramic view overlooking the valley.

The tour continues heading to Cisternino, across the local countryside with its trulli and dry-stone walls. After 15 KMs and the picturesque wild ride along the dirt paths of “Ciclovia dell’acqua”, you will get to Cisternino, with its old town, an example of the local architecture.

The tour goes back towards Caranna, where you will follow a path of almost 2 KMs marked by a steep descent (gradient of 15%). It continues towards Montalbano, close to the famous Dolmen (II Millennium B.C) and then again towards the Torre Canne coast, straight down a 10 KMs route before getting back to Borgo Egnazia.
